Ranbir Kapoor is using his stardom for a social cause.
Despite his first major release at the box office, Saawariya, failing to impress the audiences, Ranbir Kapoor has become one of the most talked about star in Bollywood. And, though he has had only three releases so far, Ranbir Kapoor is one of the most promising and sought after star in Bollywood with many big producers like Karan Johar and Yash Chopra signing films with him.
Ranbir Kapoor is now trying to payback for his stardom by contributing his bit to the social causes.
While shooting in Bhopal for his film Rajneeti, Ranbir appealed to the people against polluting the environment and spread the message of using a cycle for commuting.
Ranbir used cycle for a short distance along with some other men while taking part in an event organized by Green Planet Bicycle Riders Association to spread awareness about environmental protection and global warming among people.
The association said that through Ranbir, they want to spread the message that people should use pollution free vehicles at least when they have to travel short distances.
Speaking at the occasion, Ranbir Kapoor said, “In times when our planet is going through a crises and petroleum and other fuel products have become a cause of pollution and global warming, we need to do whatever we can to protect the planet, the greenery and our own health. I believe cycle is a great mode of transportation that needs to be encouraged in times such as these. It helps to saves both the planet and the health.”
Director of Rajneeti, Prakash Jha couldn’t agree with Ranbir more as he too joined the campaign to cycle along with Ranbir.
Hopefully the use of a star like Rabhir and his stardom for a social cause will help spread the message more easily and people will start using cycle at least for short distance travel.
