At 26, Imran Khan seems pretty much sorted. He switches from his snazzy touchscreen phone to his staid BlackBerry with the same ease as he chitchats about his engagement and career plans. While girlfriend Avantika is a tinkle away, hectically coordinating their engagement bash on his iPhone, Imran is simultaneously occupied replying to fanmail and tweets on his BB. At the covershoot, he arrives at the crack of dawn, much before his vanity van rolls in. A minute later, he is seen comfortably perched on mouldy grass, getting touches of makeup. "I'm fine, it's better we get started, than wait here endlessly," he says hastily. "And Mehboob studio is like a second home to me. I literally grew up here. My nana's office was next-door," he says about the illustrious grandfather, Nasir Husain, who steered Bollywood to a new direction with movies like Yaadon Ki Baarat and Teesri Manzil. In spite of his lean frame and his contemplative countenance, Imran surprises us. His assertion of not being restful with B-town frills like photoshoots seems a little way off. He masquerades effortlessly in everything from.
a trench coat to a sports jacket, posing, jumping and doing his own thing while the shutterbug clicks incessantly. "One year ago if you had asked me for a covershoot, you would be spending all the time convincing me to look into the camera," says the actor as he sheds his shirt to give us his stellar best this time around...
