Ranbir Kapoor is using his stardom for a social cause.

Despite his first major release at the box office, Saawariya, failing to impress the audiences, Ranbir Kapoor has become one of the most talked about star in Bollywood. And, though he has had only three releases so far, Ranbir Kapoor is one of the most promising and sought after star in Bollywood with many big producers like Karan Johar and Yash Chopra signing films with him.

Ranbir Kapoor is now trying to payback for his stardom by contributing his bit to the social causes.

While shooting in Bhopal for his film Rajneeti, Ranbir appealed to the people against polluting the environment and spread the message of using a cycle for commuting.

Ranbir used cycle for a short distance along with some other men while taking part in an event organized by Green Planet Bicycle Riders Association to spread awareness about environmental protection and global warming among people.

The association said that through Ranbir, they want to spread the message that people should use pollution free vehicles at least when they have to travel short distances.

Speaking at the occasion, Ranbir Kapoor said, “In times when our planet is going through a crises and petroleum and other fuel products have become a cause of pollution and global warming, we need to do whatever we can to protect the planet, the greenery and our own health. I believe cycle is a great mode of transportation that needs to be encouraged in times such as these. It helps to saves both the planet and the health.”

Director of Rajneeti, Prakash Jha couldn’t agree with Ranbir more as he too joined the campaign to cycle along with Ranbir.

Hopefully the use of a star like Rabhir and his stardom for a social cause will help spread the message more easily and people will start using cycle at least for short distance travel.

Neighbors Complain Against Hrithik Roshan

A complaint was lodged against Hrithik Roshan’s late night party.

Bollywood stars just need a reason to party. Bollywood parties always become the talk of the town because whereas our Bollywood celebrities work hard, they tend to party harder.

And that is precisely what many of these stars were doing in Juhu residence of Hrithik Roshan, when the actor threw a party to celebrate his mother’s birthday. But, as the Bollywood stars celebrated and enjoyed themselves, little did they know that they were disturbing the neighbors and public at large.

If sources are to be believed, Hrithik Roshan played music at a very high volume till 3 a.m. in the morning without caring this was highly disturbing for some neighbors, who were trying to sleep but were unable to do so because of the loud music being played at Hrithik’s residence.

In fact, the music was so loud that the neighbors had to call the cops at 2.30 am and ask then to request Hrithik to at least let them have some sleep.  It was only after the police reached Hrithik’s place around 3 am and informed him about the neighbor’s complain that the music’s volume got turned down.

Hrithik and all other Bollywood stars present at the party including Shahrukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Preity Zinta, Kangana Ranaut, Amisha Patel, Farhan Akhtar, Shilpa Shetty, Neelam and others actually broke the law because creating public disturbance by playing loud music after a given point of time in the evening is a punishable crime in the city of Mumbai. Hrithik and other guest were extremely lucky that given their celebrity status, police left them only after giving them a warning and did not register a case or arrest anyone for the crime.

Though Hrithik was let off due to his star status despite the complaint from the neighborhood, he did not have any regrets about the entire incidents as the party continued once the police left. Yes, the neighbors could get a little sleep as the volume of the music was kept low afterwards. 

Hrithik throws a bash for mom Pinky Roshan

The Roshans had already celebrated Hrithik’s mom Pinky Roshan’s birthday on October 22, by having a quiet dinner party at a Juhu restaurant, but this time Hrithik Roshan was in a mood for lavish celebration and he threw a big bash for mom Pinky Roshan’s birthday and all the prominent celebs from the Bollywood fraternity were invited including SRK-Gauri, Saif-Bebo, Shilpa-Raj, Genelia, Sonali, Kunal Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar amongst others. The party went on till wee hours.However, the celebration turned sour when the neighbours who were not apparently not comfortable with loud music informed police and the police showed up at Hrithik’s 8th floor apartment in Plazzo building in Juhu Vile Parle Development (JVPD) at around 2:15am.Check out the pics from the bash.

Amitabh Goes All Out to Promote Aladdin

Amitabh Bachchan is said to be very excited about Aladdin and is going all out to promote it. Amitabh Bachchan and the team of Aladdin is a happy lot these days and though the film hasn’t hit the theatres as yet, they are already in a mood to celebrate.
Reports suggest that the entire team of Alddin including Mr. Bachchan himself is going all out to promote the film. And their attempts may gain momentum now that the film has managed to get a U certificate at the Box Office.
As Director Sujoy Ghosh puts it, “The U certificate from the censor board only goes to reaffirm the fact, which I have been stressing on ever since the promotion of the film started. Aladdin is a complete entertainer and it can be watched by entire family sitting together.” 
In fact, if reports are to be believed, Mr. Bachchan is taking the kind of personal interest in the promotion of this film like he has never done before in his entire Bollywood career. Not only is he himself working day and night to promote Aladdin but has requested the entire cast of the film to put in that extra effort in film’s promotion. Mr. Bachchan and other stars of the film are scheduled to take part in many promotional events across the length and breath of the country to ensure that the film gets just the right kind of publicity before its release.
The film is also being promoted on an extensive basis on various television channels. So, give your Television remote a breather this week since, as Amitabh Bachchan goes all out to promote Aladdin, its only him you are likely to see on all channels.

Amitabh Bachchan to Star in Hera Pheri 3, or Should I Say 4?

After the success of 'Phir Hera Pheri', the star trio Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty will come together again in the next installment of this comedy caper. The movie will also have a fourth important character in the form of Amitabh Bachchan. And not only that, since there will be four characters in the film, producers have decided that the title of the film will be 'Hera Pheri 4'! I guess saying three won't be enough for this sequel.

A source reveals, "After the success of the sequels, they decided to add some more masala to the film. Director Anees Bazmee has scripted a very strong character which is the fourth character and of a lot of importance to the story. This third sequel will have more twists and turns and one had to play more with the characters. Mr. Bachchan is a wonderful actor and it was very long since one saw him in a comedy role. He will very beautifully essay the role."

Director Anees Bazmee says, "We are still in the scripting stage. The script is being written keeping Amitabh Bachchan in mind. I still have to narrate the script to him. We both are keen on working with each other. Things yet have to be finalized."

The movie will be produced by Firoz Nadiadwala and will be directed by Anees Bazmee. The movie will go on floors in March 2011 with Katrina Kaif in the lead.

ShahRukh Khan honored with the 5th degree black belt of Taekwando

 

King Khan has added a new feather to his cap. The Korean Government conferred upon him an ‘Honorary Black belt of Taekwondo‘ title. However, it may be mentioned here that even as SRK gets a 5th degree black belt of Taekwondo he knows nothing of the sport.An elated SRK said that he felt like a tough guy despite doing mostly romantic films in his two-decade-old career but he has no plans to switch to the action genre and will stick to his lover-boy image.
“I am just recovering from my shoulder injury and will take another two months to be fully fit. I plan to stick to romance and utilise both my hands perfectly first,” he said.
“My son Aryan is very angry with me. He has been practicing Taekwondo and will take another two years to earn this title,” joked Shah Rukh.
Meanwhile, on the other front Shah Rukh Khan walked the ramo with wife Gauri to showcase creations by designers Karan Johar and Varun Bhal on the final day of the HDIL India Couture Week in Mumbai.

Shahrukh Khan Receives Black Belt in Taekwondo

Shahrukh Khan may not be a master in Taekwondo, but the South Korean embassy in Mumbai still gave theBollywood big shot a black belt in the martial art form, along with another special honor for his workas ambassador in culture and tourism."The Korean government has decided to confer an honorary belt in taekwondo to Shahrukh and they are also giving him the title of an honorary ambassador for culture and tourism," Shahrukh's spokesperson told reporters on Wednesday. The honor will be handed to the B-town superstar at the Taj Lands End hotel in Mumbai on Thursday. The honorary black belt in Taekwondo will be the second international honor for SRK this year. In July, he received an honorary doctorate in arts and culture by Bedfordshire University in London for his contribution to art and cinema. Late last year, he also received the honorary titleof 'Datuk' from the Malaysian government.
